John Nicholson - Artist
John Nicholson is a Scottish artist who has lived and worked in the Highlands for over 45 years and is currently based in the City of Inverness.
With his family roots in Skye, he is drawn to the subject matter provided by the west coast of Scotland. Before the Coronvirus epidemic he spent time in France every year where the weather allows more opportunities to work direct from nature. Favourite haunts have been the Tarn, Corrèze and Dordogne.
Meticulous in approach, John combines subject matter and the abstract elements in his search for aesthetic, intellectual and emotional significance.
Current Exhibitions
A selection of John's work is being exhibited in the Eastgate Centre, Inverness and the painting he submitted to the RSW Open exhibition has been accepted and can be seen at the Royal Scottish Academy, Edinburgh from 11th to 27th December.
Please note
Sadly, Bobby Grierson who designed this website died recently and whilst I can edit this page I am not able to update, add to or make changes to the paintings in the Galleries. I hope to address this in due course.
