John Nicholson is a Scottish artist who has lived and worked in the Highlands for over 30 years and is now based in the City of Inverness.
With his family roots in Skye, he is drawn to the subject matter provided by the west coast of Scotland. He also spends time in France every year where the weather allows him more opportunity to work direct from nature. Local produce provides still lifes for rainy days. Favourite haunts are the Tarn and Corrèze.
Meticulous in approach, John combines subject matter and the abstract elements in his search for aesthetic, intellectual and emotional significance.
